Farewell I Heart O'Days

When I first started becoming interested in O’Day Mariners in the mid-2000s, one of the first websites I discovered was www.iheartodays.com. It was a fantastic resource for any kind of O’Day sailboat, and the amount of information website owner Mike McIntire had on his site was truly impressive. Manuals, pictures, brochures - you name it, he had it. Sure, the pictures were small resolution, but who cares? I found myself visiting his site again and again, soaking in all the information about O’Day Mariners he had.

In March 2021, Mike’s website hosting company informed him they would no longer be supporting his website building tool. Not only that, he wouldn’t be able to update his site any more, no matter what software he used. So, he kept parts of the site active that didn’t need any further maintenance, wrote a farewell note to all his website visitors, and left it, as he put it, “frozen in space and time.”

Just recently, I tried visiting his website again for the fun of it, and I found it finally inactive. Thanks, Mike, for all the work you put into the site and for inspiring many O’Day sailboat owners like myself with all the great content you shared.
