I don’t know why, but this year, I have not been taking many sailing pictures. While I haven’t sailed as much this year as I have in other years, I still have been out on the water a lot, but I just haven’t made the effort to take pictures. I think part of the reason is because I have been wanting to enjoy the moment more without having a phone or camera in my hand, trying to capture it digitally.
While I have indeed enjoyed those moments sans camera, I find that I have missed looking back at pictures I would have taken. I have a rather terrible memory, and I have relied on pictures to remind myself of all the little sailing excursions. This is especially true during the winter months when details start to fade, and it’s nice to be reminded of not only the big trips like the WoodenBoat Show and the Mariner Rendezvous but of the smaller, one- or two-hour daysails that brought enjoyment and are worth remembering.
That being said, I did update the 2023 Sailing Page with some new pictures - take a look here.
Although there is still a little more sailing left for this season, I think I will definitely be making more of an effort to take more photos next year.
