From 2002 to 2009, the Yahoo Group “MarinerSailors” was extremely active with forum and picture posts. It rivalled the Mariner Class Association forums; at its peak in May of 2008, a whopping 308 posts were created. Soon after, the MCA upped their game with their new ClubExpress software platform with streamlined and powerful forum capabilities, and the Yahoo Group suffered a swift decline in activity and is now generally considered inactive.
In its heyday, however, the MarinerClass Yahoo Group was a valuable resource, and I remember seeing postings by Steve Clark in Michigan of his beautiful Mariner, #560 COOL BREEZE. He has had many adventures in COOL BREEZE and has updated her with new paint inside and out, an interior battery, custom teak and holly cabin flooring, interior brass lamp - the list is extensive. She is a real head-turner, and I would read all his stories and download his pictures which inspired me to tackle some projects with ORION.
Steve listed COOL BREEZE for sale on the MCA forums just a couple of days ago. She has been on the hard for the past seven years; in the meantime, Steve’s wife tragically lost her battle with cancer. It’s always tough to put your boat up for sale, especially following such unfortunate circumstances.
